Cauliflower Leaf Soup

The ingredients are fit for two to four portions.

  • 2 Spoons ghī or sesame oil.
  • 1 Teaspoon grated ginger.
  • ¼ Teaspoon curry leaf powder.
  • ¼ Teaspoon cumin powder.
  • ½ Teaspoon tumeric powder.
  • ½ Teaspoon coriander powder.
  • The leaves of 1 cauliflower (without the hard part at the root of the cauliflower).
  • 1 Litre water.
  • Juice from ¼ lemon.
  • ¼ Teaspoon black pepper powder.
  • 1 Teaspoon salt.


  • Cut the cauliflower leaves into pieces.
  • Heat the ghī or sesame oil.
  • Add the ginger, curry leaf, cumin, tumeric and coriander and fry them for a few seconds.
  • Add the cauliflower leaves and fry them for one or two minutes.
  • Add the water, bring it to a boil, and let the whole simmer untill the cauliflower leaves are done.
  • Blender the whole into a smooth soup.
  • Add the lemon juice, black pepper and salt and stirr well.
