Rice and Raw Vegetables with Peanut Sauce

The ingredients are fit for two to four portions.

  • 2 Cups (approximately 150 gram) (whole grain) basmati rice, or a similar rice.
  • ½ Litre water.
  • 1 Beetroot.
  • 1 Carrot.
  • 2 Cups (mung bean) sprouts.


  • Cook the rice in the water.
  • Cook the sprouts for a minute to remove possible bacteria.
  • Cut the beetroot and carrot into very small, long pieces and mix them with the sprouts.
  • Prepare the peanut sauce according to 'Devanna, Simple Peanut Sauce'.2
  • Serve the rice and vegetables unmixed, topped with the peanut sauce.
