Question

I have been reading your text about the evolution of the egoic lotus and the petals on your website.1 I would like to ask you something. Is it possible during the evolution of the soul that the mental unit rises through the antahkarana to the base of the egoic lotus, within the flame?

Answer

In the advanced stages of human evolution a fusion takes place between the lower, concrete mind and the higher, abstract mind.2, 3 The essence of the mental unit is absorbed or abstracted into the flame of the egoic lotus, and the shell, so to speak, of the mental unit is burned up by the solar fire of the soul.4 This corresponds on its own level with what is called 'the ascension' in the ageless wisdom.5 So in essence the mental unit indeed does rise (ascend) into the flame during the evolution of the soul. But we should keep in mind that it is an abstraction (along the symbolical vertical line) and not a concrete movement (along a symbolical horizontal line). This answer can also be derived from the publication itself, under the subparagraph 'Destruction' (and its corresponding notes).6
