Cauliflower Leafs in Tomato Peanut Sauce

This recipe goes well with for instance plain rice.


The ingredients are fit for about two portions.

  • The leafs of 1 cauliflower.
  • 1 Tomato.
  • 1 Spoon peanut butter.
  • 2 Spoons ghī or sesame oil.
  • 1 Tea spoon grated ginger.
  • ½ Tea spoon chopped chili pepper (optional).
  • ⅛ Tea spoon bay leaf powder.
  • ¼ Tea spoon cumin powder.
  • ½ Tea spoon tumeric powder.
  • ½ Tea spoon coriander powder.
  • ¼ Tea spoon garam masala.
  • ¼ Cup water (or as needed).
  • 2 Spoons lemon juice
  • ¾ Tea spoon salt.


  • Blend the tomatoes, the peanut butter, the water and garam masala until smooth and cut the cauliflower leafs.
  • Heat the ghī / sesame oil.
  • Add the ginger, chili, bay leaf, cumin, tumeric and coriander and fry them for a few seconds.
  • Add the cauliflower leafs and fry for a few seconds.
  • Add the tomato, peanut butter, water and garam masala blend and cook untill the cauliflower leafs and tomato sauce are done and the latter has thickened.
  • Put the heat low and add the lemon juice and the salt.
